Tip of the Day

Vision for 2013:

Well it's New Year's Eve, and if you haven't already, you are probably thinking about your New Year’s resolution.   Maybe you want to go on a diet, join a gym, get a better job, or plan that special vacation. Are you really resolved to do these things? If you are then good for you I’m happy to see you putting your plan in action.

This year my plan is a little different, this year instead of resolutions I’m creating a vision, my vision for 5 Minutes for Me in 2013 and beyond. I have been working on a project to bring this vision to life and to share it with everyone. I started a secret board on Pinterest called,5 Minutes for Me Vision Board, this board contains Pins with explanations of what I see for 5 Minutes for Me now and in the future. I have also included a pin with directions on how you can create your own Pinterest Vision Board. I have had a lot of fun with this project and think you will too, if you give it a try. Take your time and keep the board secret until you are ready to reveal it, That's what I did.

Are you up for the challenge? Are you willing to bring your vision for yourself to life and share it with the world? I’m throwing it out there, Will you accept?

Here is the pin with the directions, or feel free to check out the 5minutesforme Pinterest  page. CLICK HERE! to view the full board.
To create my vision Board I used a combination of re-pins from Pinterest and slides I made myself in PowerPoint. Where ever you get your pins doesn’t matter, they just need to fit your vision.

Tip of the Day

If you could give yourself anything in the world ,what would it be ?

Merry Christmas

It’s been another busy weekend! I had to fit in extra time to do holiday prep and still manage to get it done and go out and have a good time. It’s amazing how much extra you can get done when you have to. It also doesn’t hurt when you know you have a few days off.

I started Friday night; the kids had a birthday party so I took the opportunity to wrap their gifts. So now that’s out of the way. Saturday morning, Gymnastics 8-11 AM, food shopping in-between and pick up the last of the gifts at the liquor store. Run home put it away and somehow ended up with a couple of minutes to catch my breath, not even sure how I managed that. 11 AM picked up the kids and headed home for lunch.

Next I got to do something I rarely get time to do these days; I got to take a much needed nap. My husband took over the running around for a few hours and I got to rest. I’m glad I did, next I headed over to a friends to help her out with her hair, Came out nice if I do say so myself. Next feed the kids, total cheat, ordered out, but some days ya just gotta do it. Done with all the days’ responsibilities, time for me to go out and have some fun.

Saturday night out with the hubby and a bunch of friends for a Birthday Party and some Christmas Karaoke. Everyone had a blast we closed the place; it’s been awhile since I’ve done that, loads of fun.

Sunday I stayed in bed till 8 which is late for me so that was a plus, got to relax on the couch with some coffee and watch Miracle on 34th Street. Next we all went to the movies to see the Hobbit; everyone enjoyed it, a real rarity but definitely nice, then back home and back to getting ready for the next two days, cooking cleaning laundry and a few other things including the post. I feel like I’m off to a good start, everything is prepped and tomorrow should go pretty smoothly, and once Tuesday hits it all got to be done.

Well I’m looking forward to the next couple of days and the next week, I have some time off from work so I can recoup and get back to normal. Here’s to a happy holiday and a healthy productive New Year! I have some exciting new things to put in place for 2013 and some should be ready to go next week, can’t wait to share them with you.

Merry Christmas!

Reasonably, Healthy Eating During the Holidays

For me and my family the holidays are all about the food, Getting together with family and friends and eating, that’s how it’s always been. So as much as I like to keep healthy eating habits, this time of year is rough. Luckily I have a few tricks to keep the junk to a minimum without denying myself a few treats. Here they are.

Going out later in the day? Eat healthy all day before you go out and have something just before you leave. Load up on fresh fruit and veggies, have some salad something fresh and homemade, so when you go out food is not the only thing on your mind. Also if you are having cocktails your tummy is ready for them.

Got a pot luck? Bring your favorite healthy dish, if it’s something you love to eat ,you are more likely to eat that instead of something you might regret later. Eat it before you have anything else to take the edge off your appetite and just sample whatever else you may want..
The picture on the left is Quinoa -Stuffed Peppers ( recipe from Vegetarian Times) We took this to a family party, everyone loved it.

Having people over for dinner or a party? Plan a healthy meal and find the less sugar lower fat recipes, serve salad and vegetables with your meal. Cut up fresh fruit and veggies and serve lower fat dips like hummus for the veggies and yogurt dip for the fruit. I saw a recipe for a peanut butter yogurt dip on pinterest, I think I may make. Fresh Salsa or guacamole you find in the produce isle or make from scratch are healthy and taste great. Carrot chips, fresh raw carrots ,crinkle cut like potato chips go well with dip.Put these out instead of chips,it's the perfect healthy replacment.

I find it helpful to add in healthy food instead of taking away less healthy food. It keeps you from feeling deprived and can help to avoid binging, which is what seems to happen to me when I try not to have anything. I avoid eating it all day then I break, and look out cause I’m not stopping, no good.
Well that’s my strategy for reasonably healthy holiday eating. Having my food and eating it too.
Happy Holiday Eating to All !

Relaxation Exercise

It’s the end of the year, holiday time, Time to run around and get it all done. Run from here to there from one thing to the next. We tend to push ourselves and get all wound up, so what happens when you need rest, it can be difficult to wind down. Here is a relaxation exercise to calm your body and mind and maybe even help you drift off to sleep.
Start by finding a comfortable position either sitting or laying down, it’s up to you. Take 2 or three deep breaths and turn your attention to your body, look for areas that seem tight or tense, don’t do anything just take notice. Now focus on your toes. How do they feel, are the muscles tight or tense, or are they soft and relaxed? If the muscles are tense think about relaxing them hold your focus and let the tension go. It may take some time for this to work for you so if it’s not working move on and then come back to it. The more you practice the easier it will become to let go. Once you are finished with our toes move on to the feet, focus your attention and let your muscles relax. If your mind starts to wander don’t be concerned jus gently bring it back to your feet. Next is the ankles, then the calves, knees and thighs. Slowly work your way up the bodies to the shoulders from there go down the arm to your fingertips. Start working your way back up the arms to the neck the head and the face , hit every area you can think of including such areas as ,the eyebrows, cheeks, jaw ,throat, and eyes. Once you have finished do a scan over your whole body look for any muscles the may still feel tight and go back to them one by one. Start from where you left off and work your way back down the body to the feet. The more you do it the easier it gets and the muscles tend to let go a bit faster. Don’t expect anything, each time you practice may bring a different experience, enjoy it.

·      There is a good possibility that will drift off or fall asleep while doing this exercise, so doing it before bed may be a god idea for you.

However you choose to do it, give yourself enough time to relax and remain that way for as long as possible.

Enjoy and be well.

Tip of the Day

Apply moisturizer to face and skin just after every shower. It’s a good skin care habit to get into.

Thursday, December 6, 2012

Tip of the Day

When you get out of the shower take a minute to push back the skin around your finger and toe nails. The skin is nice and soft making it easier to push back.

Keep body scrub in the shower so you can scrub away dry skin, then apply inshower moisturizer.

Tip of the Day

Here is another good reason to shave in the shower. The steam from the shower opens up the pours and can help to give you a closer more comfortable shave. It makes shaving a lot less messy. All the shaving cream goes right down the drain, it’s easy to keep the razor clean and you can rinse yourself off when you are done no cream left on your skin. Give it a try for a while if it seems to awkward

Tip of the Day

Shave every time you shower.Keep all your shaving supplies in the shower and shave every time you are in there. Once it becomes a habit you'll never forget.

Good Grooming Habits

Good Grooming Habits, In and Just After, the Shower

Ever notice how some people always look perfect, and wonder how they have the time to do it. Some people do devote a lot of extra time grooming and getting themselves put together. You want to look and feel that way without spending too much extra time? Here are some simple habits that once developed can become part of your routine and become effortless.

We all have a daily grooming rituals and most of us don’t even think about half of them because we have been doing them since we were 5. Get up wash your face brush your teeth brush your hair, the basics. But what about the other things like shaving, skin and, nail care? Where do they fit in?

Here are some simple steps you can add into or just after your shower. Shaving, so many people I know have trouble fitting in time to shave or forgetting to do it altogether. Here’s my suggestion, shave every time you take a shower. (Works for both men and women)Keep all of your shaving supplies in the shower, guys, they sell mirrors with suction cups and others that attach to the shower head this purpose, and add shaving into your shower routine.

The steam from the shower opens up the pours and can help to give you a closer more comfortable shave. It makes shaving a lot less messy. All the shaving cream goes right down the drain, it’s easy to keep the razor clean and you can rinse yourself off when you are done no cream left on your skin. Give it a try for a while if it seems to awkward shave as soon as you finish your shower. This way your skin is already primed and the basic idea of getting into a routine works.

Skin and nail care supply list, small fingernail brush, body scrub, and in shower moisturizer. Use the nail brush with a little soap or body washes to clean under your finger and toe nails. Keeping body scrub in the shower will allow you to target dry skin areas, regularly.  I know Olay makes an in shower moisturizer, not sure if anyone else puts one out. If you can find one apply after washing, follow recommended steps on label.

When you get out of the shower take a minute to push back the skin around your finger and toe nails. Apply moisturizer to face and skin if you were unable to do so in the shower.

All of these things altogether only add a few minutes to your existing bathroom time, but if it feels like too much add one at a time, or pick and choose what works for you. Any way you set it up practice and remind yourself until it all becomes a habit and you no longer have to think about any of it.

·       One quick note. If you keep a nail brush in the shower rambler to clean and sanitize it regularly to avoid mold and bacteria.

Tip of the Day

Don’t forget to make time to relax and unwind. When you have finished all the running around for the day, grab your favorite beverage. Kick back, relax and unwind.

Tip of the Day

Get out there and have a good time spreading holiday cheer, and while you are shopping for everybody else maybe sneak in one or two gifts for yourself, you know for all your hard work. Happy shopping to all.

Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Tip of the Day

Make a list of everyone you need to buy for, then when you shop fill in what you got for them and even how much it was. This will make it much easier to keep track of what you still need to shop for.

Tip of the Day

It’s Cyber Monday people ,get over to your computer, today is the day to look for online deals. Don’t want to go out and shop stay home and shop online, and don’t forget to look for free shipping.

Tip of the Day

Don’t let holiday shopping break the bank. Set price limits for everyone you buy for, and encourage friends and co workers to do a grab bag or Secret Santa. Less to spend, less to shop for, and best of all less stress.

On your mark, get set, shop

Thanksgiving is over, and that means one thing it’s time to get shopping. Black Friday is over and now it’s Cyber Monday, time to look for online deals. I do prefer to do the bulk of my shopping on line, no crowds, and no lines no trolling for a parking spot. I can sit at home any time of the day shop at my convenience, love that.

Amazon is my favorite site every year I make a wish list, I add everything I want, no matter how crazy or pricey. I have the kids make lists and hubby too. So when people start to ask what you want you can simply direct them to your list.

As much as I love online holiday shopping the one thing I cannot tolerate is paying for shipping. If it doesn’t ship free I don’t order it. I’ll shop around at different sites and look for free shipping and if that doesn’t work, then I’ll suck it up and head to the store.

My favorite way to shop for gifts is by myself, especially if I have a lot to get. I get into power shopping mode and I don’t need anyone slowing me down, having to wait politely while they look at stuff. Sorry, I got to move. Don’t get me wrong shopping with a friend can be a fun day out, I just prefer to do that when I can go at a relaxed pace, once all the major shopping is done. You can walk around look at different stores you normally wouldn’t go into and find something unexpected.

Well however you like to shop it’s time to get started. So get out there and have a good time spreading holiday cheer, and maybe sneak in one or two gifts for yourself, you know for all your hard work. Happy shopping to all.

Tip of the Day

Don’t limit yourself! We are capable of so much more then we give ourselves credit for. We set limits that we think we can never pass, but in some instances we manage to break through and reach the stars.

What I Learned Today

Today is a very special day for me. 13 years ago today I learned so many things about myself. I learned that I could push myself far beyond what I ever thought possible. I learned that pain meant nothing when you have to get passed it. I found strength inside me I never thought I had. That day I learned that my capacity to love was endless. On that day I became a mom.

In the past 13 years I have continued to find more surprising things about myself as I learn and grow with my children. We are capable of so much more then we give ourselves credit for. We set limits that we think we can never pass, but in some instances we manage to break through and reach the stars.  I want to take what I learned that day and apply it to the rest of my life, so that I can show my children there is no end to what they can do. I want them to find that ability within themselves, because they were the ones who helped me find it in me .So today I say Happy Birthday Jayna. You have taught me so much. I look forward to continuing to learn and grow with you.

Happy Thanksgivinng

There are so many things in life to be thankful for, and it is important to take some time to reflect on all the wonderful things and people in our lives. It doesn’t matter how much or how little you may have, we all have something or someone to be thankful for.
Think back over the past year, all that has happened, everything you have accomplished, all the people in your life. How do you feel? Throughout your life, what have you accomplished, worked for, learned from? What are the things that make you smile the people and things that bring a smile to your face as soon as you bring them to mind? If you have these things, be thankful. Whatever it is you are grateful for, take the time to notice it, enjoy it, and feel good about it.

Sometimes when I’m feeling like things are not going my way, I stop for a moment and think of everything I do have, the people I love and remember all the things that worked out for the best. No matter how upset I am this always makes me smile.

So today or any day you may need it, take some time and be thankful.

Tip of the Day

Relax and let go of expectations, if you have to travel be ready to hit traffic or get delayed, if everything goes according to plan feel lucky, and if it doesn’t don’t let it ruin your good time.

Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Tip of the Day

Don’t over complicate things, keep it simple and enjoyable. The more you try to have everything just so, the easier it is to get disappointed.

Monday, November 19, 2012

Tip of the Day

Make your holiday celebration your own. There is no right or wrong way to celebrate. So why not change things up and start your own traditions. To each his own, Happy Turkey (or not) Day!

Here Come the Holidays

Well it’s that time of year again, are you ready? I never feel like I am but somehow it all seems to get done. Cooking, eating, shopping, spending, driving, visiting, parties, families and friends, whether you are doing all or none of these things, the holidays can be a crazy time. It’s easy to get overwhelmed. So how do you keep the happy in the holidays? What can you do to keep it all in perspective and enjoy yourself?

Here are a few things to keep in mind. Don’t over complicate things, keep it simple and enjoyable. The more you try to have everything just so, the easier it is to get disappointed. Don’t plan everything down to the last detail, have a plan by all means but don’t lock yourself in, be ready to enjoy things as they happen. Sometimes the more you go with the flow the more fun it is for everyone involved. Do things that you enjoy, while you are out there running around for everyone else, schedule time for yourself. Shop for you or schedule time to hit the gym get a massage take yourself to lunch, something to make it fun.
Relax and let go of expectations, if you have to travel be ready to hit traffic or get delayed, if everything goes according to plan feel lucky, and if it doesn’t don’t let it ruin your good time. Hosting a get-together at your place , keep yourself in mind, set things up in such a way that you have time to enjoy it all and aren’t working at your own party.
If it’s all too much for you keep it low key. Do something simple at home or if you want to, get away for a while. Spend your holiday the way you want to. Do what makes you happy and makes you feel good. It’s not about the perfect meal or getting the right toy. The day will not be made or broke by the details, keep a positive attitude and above all find a way to have fun whatever you decide to do.

Happy Thanksgiving, and happy holiday season, whatever you celebrate, remember it’s just that, a celebration meant for enjoyment and fun.

Morning Madness

Morning Madness

How do you feel about mornings? Are you one of those lucky people who pop out of bed ready to start the day?  Are you up before everyone else working out getting ready perfectly groomed and ready to take on the day? I’m not. Once I’m up and going I’m ok, but getting out of bed is tough. If I had my way I‘d stay in bed till the last minute, sadly not an option for me. My vanity and my children will not allow it.

So what to do? You can always get things ready the night before. Pick out cloths, take a shower, have bags packed and ready to go. Decide if you will bring lunch or buy it, if other family members are involved have them make the same decision and have lunch or money ready to go. This way you will have less to think about first thing in the morning, and more importantly less to do.

Once you are up and going, do one thing at a time and finish it before you start something else. If you go to the bathroom first, take care of everything you need to do before you leave the room. If you go to the kitchen to make coffee, tea, or breakfast do it all while you’re in there. Don’t start something then go running back and forth through the house, It’s a giant waste of time and it is very difficult to remember what you have done, especially if you are not the only one you need to do things for.

When you have others to help in the morning, get yourself done first.  Make sure you are completely dressed put together and organized, and then move on to helping anyone who may need it. If everyone has been set up from the night before it should make the morning more productive for the whole family.

Changing things up might take some getting used to, but once you get into the swing of things it can make for a reasonable calm and even productive morning. Being prepared will keep you relaxed ,taking care of you first will make you more affective when helping others and can cut down on stress for all concerned.  So Start your day at night and have a good morning.

5 Minute Break

Releasing Muscle Tension
Here is something you can to when you need to wind down and refocus. Bring attention to your body, release the stress that has built up throughout the day and let it go.
Sit for a minute and take a few breaths. Focus on your body and look for muscle that are tense or tight. Once you know what muscles to work on pick one to start with. Squeeze the muscle and hold foe a count of 5 then release repeat 3 times. Then move on to the other tense muscles a follow the same process.
This exercise can be done with the whole body when you have the time. Starting with the feet and working your way up to your head.

Tip of the Day

Help prevent dry, chapped, and cracked skin by taking in more water.
The moisture in our skin comes from the inside, so to replenish we need to drink more water and choose more foods with high water content like fresh fruit and veggies. By all means keep the lotions, creams and moisturizers handy, they will help to hold the moisture in.

Tip of the Day

Go after everything you want, with everything you got .
You’ll never succeed if you let fear of failing hold you back.
Take a chance and go for your dreams.

Tip of the Day

Choose to be Positive
When it comes to your attitude you always have a choice
So why not choose to have a positive one?
Don’t waste time on things you cannot change.
That only leads to negative feelings
Find you own silver lining in every cloud
And allow yourself to shine

Get Out and Vote
We are very privileged to have this right so get out there and exercise it.
Voice your opinion, be heard, send a message.
If you are not happy with the choices fill in your own.
Nothing gets done by doing nothing.

Thank You

Thank you to everyone working around the clock to get things up and running again after Hurricane Sandy. Thanks to all the power crews from in and out of state. Thanks to the Police for keeping the peace, the gas lines safe and traffic flowing. Thanks for cutting down trees, keeping the water clean and flowing, and for keeping the roads safe and drivable.

Thank you to everyone who opened up their home to someone without power. Thank you to all the volunteers helping those without homes to go back to, donating supplies running shelters and doing whatever needs to be done. Thank you Governor Christie for taking the matter in hand before the storm hit to prevent any further destruction and loss, and all the work you have done since.
So many people have stepped up stepped in and the job is getting done. There is still a lot of work to do but here and there things are slowly getting back to normal. So thank you to everyone who is giving in any way because every bit helps.
There are so many still in need, so if you have the time the money or anything to give, donate something to someone who needs it. You can donate to the american Red Cross, and groups are forming that need time and donations. Something simple you can do is shop local. As all the local buisnesses start to open up shop. eat. and spend there. You get what you need and help support the community.

5 Minute Break

Need a break?
Want to calm your mind?
Ready to recharge?

Here is a simple exercise that will do all three. Counting your breaths.Find a quiet place to sit, I prefer a chair to the floor. Sit in an upright position with your feet flat on the floor. Relax your shoulders and place your hands in your lap palms up.Keep your neck long and head up looking out in front of you. Now you are ready, close your eyes and take a few breaths, inhale and exhale through your nose. Next begin to count breaths ,in then out count after every exhale. You can choose how high you want to count, you can pick a lower number like 5 or 10 then repeat several times or you can count couninusly for the duration of the exercise it's up to you. As other thoughts start to creep into your mind simply let them pass. Don't get attached to any one thought, let them float by and continue to count.

Here are a few tips. Let go of any expectations, you mind will wander, when it does redirect it. The more you practice the easier it gets, so keep trying.Start small and work your way up, try to increase the duration of the exercise as it gets easier. Relax and enjoy yourself this is all for you.

You can do this exercise almost anywhere, at home ,work, in the car(as long as your not driving) while waiting , really almost anywhere. So give it a try make time to do something for you and you will be glad you did.

Tip of the Day

Be Ready for the Unexpected
Something will pop up that your not ready for, and if you are too locked into your rutine it can cause extra stress,

Monday, October 22, 2012

Tip of the Day

Make sure you have time for you in your schedule. It's wonderful to help others and it can be very rewarding. However if your short on time and worried about how to get to the next thing, causeing stress and worry , it may be time to cut back.

Schedules

Many of us have a regular schedule, at home, at work, at school, for the kid’s activities and any number of things. Your regular schedule can be a huge help in getting things done, but sometimes they can keep us locked in to a routine that becomes difficult to get away from. A strict schedule can make it difficult to deal with the unexpected, and let’s face it something unexpected pops up more times than not. That's when it's time to make a change.
What you need to remember is this, it's your schedule. You made it, you follow it, and it's up to you to change it when it no longer works for you. I understand that there are other factors, people,or situations involved, ther almost always are. Your work or school schedule, family, commitments. Fair enough, but who put all these things into place, agreed to them, and ran with with them?
Take a look at what you do each day and look for places to make changes where necessary. Some things are easier to change than others, start with them. Make small changes here and there that you feel comfortable with. Once you get ajusted look for more things you can move aroundto better suite your personal needs. That's what this is all about after all, making your schedule fit your needs. It's your time make the most of it.
Here's something you can do to get started. Write out your schedule, each hour for every day of the week. Look for things that may not be necessary anymore, cross them out, look for open spaces and fill them with the word free. Next look at times you are cramming things in and mark them with a star. These are times that need some work; you will need to look at your options. You may need to change the time youn are volunteering or help with something else that is more convienient for you. The happier and more relaxed you are the easier and more enjoyable it is to help others.

Tip of the Day

Be flexible. Change is the one thing you can be sure of, so always expect it and be willing to make changes accordingly. The more accepting you are toward a situation the easier it is to deal with.

Tip of the Day

We make time for the things that we believe are important. Isn’t it time to believe you are important?

How to Fit it All in

Last time we talked about what you can do for yourself but where can you fit it all in?

Let’s start from the beginning. First thing in the morning, if you don’t have trouble getting up, now could be a good time for you to fit something in.

Many people get up early to go to the gym or workout at home. You can use the time to read email, read the news or check your Facebook. You can take some quiet time for yourself, have a cup of coffee or tea and mentally plan your day. Take the time to think about what you could do if you got up ½ hr earlier every day.

Do you commute? What can you do with the time you spend in the car? Listen to music, audio books, talk on the phone.

Lunch time, How much time do you have? This is a good time for a lot of people to get some things done so why not make it something you want to do. Go for a walk, read, shop, if you can, make phone calls or play a game. You fill in the rest.

In between Times, (any time in between activities ) Between classes, waiting for kids during activities, look for things you can fit into these times. Think about how much time you have, what is in the area and what you can bring with you.

If you have good amount of time and the weather is permitting, you can go for a walk or a run. If there is a lot in the area you can get a coffee, look around, or shop. If your time is more limited think of things you can fit into a few minutes. You can have apps or music downloads on your phone or wireless devices. Put on headphones and you can meditate. You can always sit in the car if you have no quiet place to go.

These are just a few of my suggestions. Go through your schedule find time, then think of how you can fill it with things you want to do. The more you do it the easier it gets and the more time you seem to find.

It’s your life live it for you.

Tip of the Day

Want to eat healthy but don’t know what type of diet is right for you? Why not get yourself started by adding more fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. Have fresh fruit for breakfast and maybe a snack. Add a green salad to lunch and dinner; eat that first to help fill you up.

Finding That First 5 Minutes

Finding time for yourself in a busy schedule can be a challenge, are you up for it? Challenge yourself with the task of finding time in your own schedule for you.

Start by making a list of the things you want to do. Once you have that pick out the things you know are possible. There is no sense in making a list of things that can’t be done that will only bring disappointment, and your goal is a happier more fulfilled life.

Here are a few suggestions that take little time, cost nothing, and can be done in a number of locations.

Go for a walk:

Weather permitting of course. Any time during the day you can take a break. At lunch, after dinner, in between classes, when the kids are at practice any time you can. Get some exercise and fresh air, clear your mind, listen to music, walk the dog. Enjoy your time.

Regular Exercise

Exercising regularly, there are many ways to get exercise daily and stay fit; I will be exploring many different ways for you to get your exercise.

Breathing Exercises:

What will it do for you? Breathing Exercises can help to reduce irritability, muscle tension, headaches, and fatigue; they can help you to relax and relieve stress.

Time to learn: a few minutes

Time to practice: Anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes to start..

Where can you do it? This is something that can be done almost anywhere.  At home, work, sitting in the car (not driving) in waiting rooms there are so many possibilities.

Guided Meditation :

What will it do for you? Meditation quiets the mind, when the mind is quiet the body can relax .Meditation can reduce stress lower blood pressure; help you relax as well as reenergize you.

Time to learn : The more you meditate the better you get at it . I recommend short guided meditations to start, I have found it helps to have something to listen to and focus on. Look for guided meditation mp3 wherever you get you music.

Time to practice:  Start with just a few min and gradually work your way up. The more you do it easier it becomes.

Where can you do it? Some place quiet where you will not be disturbed. I like to download guided meditations on to my mp3 player. Find a quiet spot in the house office, in the car (not while driving) outside on a nice day or even waiting for the kids at a practice.

Reading : Why not wind down before bed with a good book. Take your E reader while you Waite at the Dr’s office. Sit outside on a nice day during your lunch break.

Music : Listening to music you love can make a big difference in your mood design playlists for different things you have to do, like, exercise, cleaning, driving, quiet time before bed or reading.

Getting out with friends : Try to make time to socialize, getting out regularly and enjoying yourself can really lift sprits. Give yourself time with friends as often as you can.
